Interesting Facts

  • Constance St.James is the longest-serving Justice in the history of the Court, but Michael Stuart is the longest-serving Chief Justice, enjoying a tenure exceeding four months, a large majority of which was spent on the bench alone. The shortest-serving Justice is Harold Vorn, who served only a little over a week before resigning to reenter politics.
    * All three Chief Justices have had ties to the Royal Stuart Family during their tenures.
    * Despite the high number of female Prime Ministers, only two women have ever served as Justices.
